qrkodi.is is built with your privacy in mind from the ground up.

1. Creating a QR code

All QR code generation happens in your own browser. Web addresses, text, WiFi details, contact card data, and any other content you enter is never sent to qrkodi.is servers - the code is drawn directly in your browser and your data never leaves your device, unless you choose to send it yourself, for example by asking to receive the code by email.

2. Email

If you use the "Get it by email" option, we collect your email address solely to send you the requested QR code. Your address is not used for anything else unless you specifically tick the box asking for occasional tips on QR codes and marketing - that choice is entirely optional (opt-in) and you can unsubscribe at any time.

3. Cookies and advertising

No advertising or analytics cookies are set on your device until you specifically accept them in the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no such cookies are set and no data is shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Embedded on other sites

If a business embeds the qrkodi.is generator on its own website, the same rules apply: that business's customer data never passes through our servers - the code is generated in the customer's own browser, exactly as on qrkodi.is itself.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we may hold about you, such as an email address on a mailing list. Contact hjalp@qrkodi.is to exercise this right. Processing of personal data is governed by Icelandic law.
